About musen What is musen? musen is personal Live Radio shaped around what you want to hear. Tell it what you are in the mood for using text, voice or a picture, and it continuously selects and sequences music into a radio experience. An optional AI Host can introduce tracks and add spoken context. How is musen different from a playlist or on demand music service? musen is designed for continuous, adaptive radio rather than choosing and managing individual tracks one at a time. Your requests retune the experience as it continues. If you know the exact song or album you want immediately, an on demand music service may be the better tool for that moment. Is musen an AI music generator? No. The current product selects and sequences existing recordings. The optional AI Host can generate spoken introductions and context, but musen does not currently generate the songs played on the radio. Is musen free? Yes. The current public release is free and has no paid features or in app purchases. Where can I use musen, and does it work offline? The current public app is available for iPhone and Android. An internet connection is required, and offline listening is not currently supported. Can I use my Spotify or Apple Music library? No. musen does not currently connect to another music service library for playback. It plays from music available to musen under its own applicable rights arrangements. ## 2. Using Live Radio How does Live Radio work? Live Radio is a continuous personal stream. musen selects and sequences music in real time around your taste and current request. If the AI Host is active, spoken moments can appear between songs. The radio keeps evolving as you listen rather than ending like a finite playlist. How can I make a request? Use the request control to describe a mood, genre, activity, theme or moment in your own words. The current mobile app supports typed requests, voice requests and picture requests. Will musen always play exactly what I request? No. A request guides the direction of the radio. musen is not an on demand search box, and a requested track or artist may be unavailable because of catalogue, rights, territory or radio programming considerations. What happens when I change my request? The new request helps retune what comes next. It does not necessarily restart the station or produce one exact track immediately. The goal is to change direction without destroying continuity. Can I request a specific song or artist? You can include a song or artist in a request, but musen does not guarantee exact or immediate playback. Requests express intent for the continuing radio, and actual availability depends on the catalogue and applicable rights. Can I skip songs? musen is designed as continuous radio rather than an individual track queue. If the direction is wrong, make another request and the radio will adjust. Available playback controls can vary by app version and device. Can musen keep playing when I leave the app? Yes. The current mobile app supports background listening and standard device playback controls, including lock screen and compatible headphone controls. What is the AI Host, and can I turn it off? The AI Host is optional synthetic speech inside the radio. It can introduce music and add context between songs. It is not a chatbot, adviser or official authority, and you can switch it off for music only. Can I rely on the AI Host as a factual or professional authority? No. AI Host speech can be incomplete or incorrect and should not be treated as professional advice, an emergency service, a statement from an artist, or an authoritative source. It is an editorial part of the radio experience. ## 3. Account and personalisation Why is an account required? Yes. An account lets musen remember your radio preferences and listening context between sessions instead of starting from zero every time you press play. How does musen personalise my radio? musen can learn from the taste choices you make in Train Radio, the requests you send, saved preferences, and how you actually listen over time. You do not need to rate every song for the radio to adapt. Do I have to keep training or rating the radio? No. Train Radio and requests are useful explicit signals, but ordinary listening also helps shape the experience. You can use musen with very little interaction. What information can musen use to shape my radio? musen can use information you deliberately provide, such as requests and saved preferences, together with your listening activity and account settings. The exact data processed, its purpose, retention and your choices are described in the Privacy Policy. When does musen use my microphone, camera or pictures? musen uses those device capabilities when you choose a feature that requires them and grant the relevant device permission, such as a voice or picture request. Ordinary listening does not require continuous microphone or camera access. You can manage device permissions in your phone settings. See the Privacy Policy for processing and retention details. How do I delete my account or manage my data? The current mobile app includes account deletion under Account settings. You can also exercise applicable privacy rights through the contact methods in the Privacy Policy. Some limited information may be retained where law or legitimate security, dispute or compliance needs require it. ## 4. Music, artists and rights Where does the music come from? musen selects music for which it has an appropriate rights basis for the relevant use. The catalogue may include music supplied by participating artists and music made available through authorised catalogue relationships. Availability can vary over time and by territory. Can established artists and professional catalogues play on musen? Yes, where musen has the appropriate rights basis for the relevant use. Creator supplied music and professionally licensed catalogue music are complementary parts of the long term radio system. Availability depends on the rights and agreements that apply. Does musen generate the songs it plays? No. The current public product selects and sequences existing recordings. Synthetic speech may be used for the optional AI Host, but the songs themselves are not currently generated by musen. Does permission to play or analyse music also permit AI training? No. Permission to store, stream or analyse a recording does not automatically grant permission to use it for model training. Any training use requires its own appropriate rights basis. musen treats playback, analysis and training as separate uses. CLOSED ARTIST TEST Can artists upload music to musen today? Not through a generally available public programme. musen is currently running a closed artist test and maintaining a waitlist for future participation. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee admission, distribution, audience reach or payment. Accepted music remains subject to the applicable participation terms, rights checks and technical requirements. ## 5. Beyond Live Radio These concepts belong to the broader musen architecture. They are included here so older references remain understandable without being mistaken for current public features. BROADER ARCHITECTURE What are Segments? Segments are persistent editorial radio objects used in musen's broader architecture to represent a coherent portion of radio programming. The current public mobile experience focuses on continuous personal Live Radio. Creating, replaying or sharing Segments is not currently available in the public app. BROADER ARCHITECTURE What is the AI DJ? In musen's broader architecture, the AI DJ is a silent editorial system that can shape and sequence segment based radio. It is not a speaking character or chatbot. The current public mobile experience is Live Radio, so musen does not present AI DJ as a separate public feature today. ## 6. Support and policies What should I do if playback stops or a request does not work? Check your internet connection and device volume, allow the radio a moment to connect, and try again. If the issue continues, use the Report option in Account settings or contact musen support. How do I report inappropriate music or AI Host speech? Use the reporting tools available in the app where provided, or contact musen support with enough detail to identify the issue. Community and content reports are reviewed under the applicable Guidelines and rights policies. Where can I find the Terms, Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines? The current public policies are available through musen.live and from links provided in the app. The Terms govern the legal relationship, the Privacy Policy governs personal data, and the Community and Broadcasting Guidelines define participation and conduct standards.
